The best advice i can give to a first time buyer is to find a good Buyer’s Agent who will represent and guide you in the home buying process. While there is no end to the amount of information available online it is pieces of a puzzle and a good Realtor can put the pieces together for you. You will need to know:
2. Home Inspections and working through issues;
3. Negotiating a Contract what will work and what is unreasonable;
4.Appraisals which is a hot topic these days with many properties not appraising – now what?
5. Final walk throughs
Within each of these headings are numerous items your Realtor will guide you through. The agent you meet at the Open House you visit probably works for the seller representing their interests. A Buyer’s Agent is paid through a cooperating agreement through the multiple listing service and 99.8% of the time paid by the seller.
By the way did I mention that I am an Accredited Buyer’s Representative and love to work with first time buyers.
