When you search for a home and need financing the first thing you should do is speak to a mortgage person and get pre-approved. This will tell you if you qualify for a loan and what your price range is so you will know what you can afford. As part of this process your credit will be checked and the decision to qualify will be based on your credit score.
Sometimes it takes quite a bit of time to find the right property. The bank will re run your credit when you actually find a property and again just before you go to act of sale for a final approval.
If you buy or lease a new car, buy furniture, buy toys for the kids using your credit or do anything that changes your credit score even though originally your qualified for a loan these purchases will change your score and you may no longer qualify.
Best advice, don’t buy anything between the time of originally get pre qualified and when you close on the property you want. Don’t Buy Anything, Don’t Buy Anything, Don’t Buy Anything….
