Pinterest.com is the newest rage on the internet. It has become fabulously popular . What is Pinterest? You know all those things that people put on their refrigerators with magnets? This is like having multiple refrigerators each a different topic and then pinned with items on the internet. As an example let’s say you like chocolate cake and you are always looking for recipes for chocolate cake on the internet you could “pin” each recipe you come in contact with and you would have all of your chocolate cake recipes “pinned” in one place.
When Pinterest first came out real estate agents become engaged thinking that it would be a wonderful way to syndicate and share their listings. We are always looking to put out listings in front of consumers and if consumers were running to Pinterest we wanted to be where they were. Discussions online debated the usefulness of Pinterest in real estate vs. just using it for fun.
Then a lot of real estate agents terminated their accounts with Pinterest because copyright is important and if I take pictures and “pin” them to Pinterest I don’t want to give up my ownership rights to my own pictures. Pinterest is a fun place but if you use it you must be very careful not to use (steal) anyone’s else pictures. Seems that Pinterest is not the next, best social media site at least for real estate.
