The Rosa Keller Library located at 4300 S. Broad Street in New Orleans reopened today and is the first of four branch library’s of the New Orleans Library System that will reopen in the next 30 days. These 4 library’s have been rebuilt post Katrina flooding and with $25 million in funding coming from FEMA and the D-CDBG now ready to add a tremendous resource to the communities in which they are located. The New Orleans Library also has a new director, Charles Brown, who will make literacy his major focus.

Reopening on March 20th at 2pm:
Norman Mayer Library in the Gentilly Neighborhood located at 2098 Foy Street, New Orleans, LA
Reopening on March 22nd at 11:30pm:
Robert Smith Library in the Lakeview Neighborhood located at 6301 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA
Reopening on April 12th at 2pm:
NOLA East Regional Library in New Orleans East located at 5641 Read Blvd, New Orleans, LA
There is a lot going on at each of these library’s including book sales, Storytime, Teen Tech Week, Matinees, eBooks for eKids. There is something for all age groups and you check this all out on their website. Computers are available for library card holders use, one hour at a time.
