The Camillia Grill is the traditional greasy spoon with hamburgers and omelets. Food is delicious and there can be a very long line unless you go off hours. There are two grills now in New Orleans one in the French Quarter and one where S. Carrolton meets St. Charles. Tourists from all over the world end up at the Camillia Grill and locals frequent it. The Camillia Grill was damaged during Hurricane Katrina and this is a picture from the front of the restaurant with a load of sticky notes left by individuals who hoped and encouraged them to reopen. They were missed – a good omelet is hard to find.
By the way they will make anything you ask for on the menu or not and the wait staff here is just great. You might even be there for one of their singing sets. They are friendly and the best.
I can’t think of another greasy spoon where this would happen.
