You’ve done your online searches, watched the markets, downloaded apps, and looked at a variety of real estate data on your laptop, smartphone, etc. You might even consider yourself a “tech-savvy” individual. But when it comes to Realtors, are you making the right choice for the job? Are you working with a tech-savvy Realtor?
Just a few years ago, selling a home was no more complicated than putting out a ‘for sale’ sign, posting flyers, and listing in the hard-copy MLS. Selling a home was as simple as that. This is no longer the case. With 9/10 of all home sales beginning online, you can’t afford to not use the internet. And not only use it, but have a tech savvy Realtor who will use it wisely. There are many things that will set a tech-savvy Realtor apart from the pack. These factors will give you the competitive edge whether buying or selling.
For example, an internet-wise Realtor will include an interactive map of the local homes for sale on their website. This is extremely important for both parties. As a seller, you will benefit from the terrific exposure your house will receive and exposure is the name of the game. On the other hand, if you are buying, you definitely want your Realtor to have a good home search tool so that you don’t miss out on finding your dream home. A tech savvy Realtor will also use their blog to keep you up to date with important real estate info, such as local real estate listings and/or nation-wide market updates.
At the core of tech-savvy real estate is communication and efficiency. The two go hand in hand. In case you find the perfect home, you want to be able to get ahold of your Realtor quickly, before someone else snatches it up. Likewise, if you are trying to sell your home, you want your Realtor to be readily available when that potential buyer comes knocking. Social media sites will also be key in this as these will lead to better property exposure. Facebook, Twitter, and other websites are favorites of those who know how to effectively manage their online real estate.
It’s important to remember that being tech-savvy doesn’t necessarily mean having the latest gadgets and/or social media sites. Rather its having the right tools and employing them smartly. If you’re ready to do real estate the smart way, make sure you consult a tech-savvy Realtor, like Miriam Bernstein, today!
